Why Did I Start The John K. Scott Law Firm, LLC?

To provide cost-effective legal services while maintaining a high-quality work product.

I’ve been fortunate enough to see the inner workings of large and small firms alike, but I started this law firm because I’ve noticed a common theme throughout my time in the legal profession – costliness.

From my experiences and discussions with colleagues, we see and hear the frustrations that clients and the public have about the rising cost of legal services. Inflation has caused the price of most things to substantially increase in recent years, and the legal profession is no exception. Legal fees have been increasing because of the rising cost of office space, insurance, general overhead for law firms, and a myriad of other reasons. This is naturally reflected in the hourly billing rate of an attorney and legal staff.

And unfortunately, the legal profession is one of the few industries where you don’t know the final cost of something going into it – even for the “simple” or “routine” matters. I wanted to adopt a model that took both of these common complaints into consideration.
